Putting Policy into Practice

BDAC would like your help!

Bristol Debt Advice Centre has obtained funding from Friend’s Provident Foundation to carry out some detailed social policy work.

We are focusing on the following areas:

  • Problems with council tax recovery, in particular problems with bailiffs
  • Poor treatment or harassment of debtors by the major banks.
  • Problems with Payment Protection Insurance, difficulties in reclaiming mis-sold premiums and problems with claims management companies.

We are collecting experiences of people who have had problems in these areas. Initially we will carry out an interview either in person or over the phone. We intend to use this evidence to improve practices in the future. Everything you tell us will be confidential; we will not pass on any information which can identify you to anyone outside of BDAC without your express permission.
If you would like to help, please would you give us your contact details and a brief indication of the issue on a data collection form.

If you are a client or a member of the public and are completing the form yourself you can download the  Clients Data Collection Form.doc

If you are an adviser and are completing a form on behalf of a client you can download the Agencies Data Collection Form.doc.

The completed form should be sent to:

Policy into Practice,
BDAC, 2nd Floor,
48-54 West St,
St Philips,
Bristol
BS2 0BL.

You can also fax it on 0117 954 3992, or email it to: socialpolicy@bdac.org.uk.
