Welcome to the Advice Centres for Avon (ACFA) and South West Advice Training (SWAT) website. If you are looking for your local advice centre please use the options listed under 'Home'.

If you are already a member or are interested in becoming one please use the options listed under 'ACFA Members'.

We hope that you find this site easy to use and that you are able to find the information that you need.

Bristol Debt Advice Centre (BDAC) is running a new Social Policy Project, which will be investigating three areas of concern for clients. Please visit the Social Policy Project page for more information and to find out how you can contribute your data.

Please do not approach ACFA directly for help, as we are unable to provide help directly to members of the public.

Many of ACFA's members meet the quality standards set by the Legal Services Commission. You can find out more via the Community Legal Advice website (www.communitylegaladvice.org.uk) where you can read or download information leaflets that cover common legal problems, find a local legal adviser or use their calculator to see if you qualify for legal aid. Information is available in English, Welsh, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Turkish and Urdu.

Or you use the Community Legal Advice telephone helpline (0845 345 4 345), which provides independent advice about debt, education, benefits and tax credits, employment and housing problems to people who live on a low income or benefits.

Mobile users can text 'legalaid' and their name to 80010 to receive a call back from an adviser.
